Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Composites
Dr. Chris Skinner serves as Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Owens Corning’s $2 billion Composites business. In this role, he is responsible for developing and executing near- and long-term strategic plans to achieve the business goal of growing two percentage points above the broader composites market. He and his team lead work with science and technology, general managers, and sales leaders across the global Composites enterprise.
Immediately prior to his current role, Chris served as Director of Front-End Innovation from 2016 to 2018. In this role he was responsible for identifying and prototyping novel technologies in dedicated innovation spaces in Granville (Ohio) and Chambéry (France), which enabled the growth ambitions of three divisions within Owens Corning.
Previously, Chris was the Director of Product Platforms for the Composites business from 2013 to 2016. In this role he was responsible for the total product line of the Composites business. In this role he earned three JEC Innovation awards and Frost & Sullivan’s “Best Product Line” award for the Wind Energy Portfolio.
Chris joined Owens Corning in 2009 and has also worked in a range of technology and marketing roles within the Composites business including the global Technical Fabrics business and the Engineered Solutions business. Prior working at Owens Corning, he held the role of VP of Strategic Marketing for the Rhodia Polyamide Business based in Lyon, France.
Chris also worked for more than 10 years at ICI / Huntsman Polyurethanes in various international assignments in technology and marketing in the U.K., Belgium, and Germany within a range of business units including Composite Panels, Thermoplastic Polyurethanes and the Automotive Group.
Chris graduated from the Open University Business School with an MBA in 2001. He holds a Ph.D. and B.Sc. (Hons) in chemistry from the University of Durham, U.K
