Multidisciplinary Wide & High 3D Mold Applications for Aerospace Composite Production

Comparison with current methods by means of cost/time/design ability/robustness/NC program optimization will be evaluated in this session.
The recent successful experience for the production of aerospace grade molds (2meter x 1,5meter x 3,5meter - world greatest 3D printed layup tool by volume) was based on cooperative development by Turkish Aerospace and Ingersoll USA. Advanced 3D thermoplastic technology is exposed and results are analyzed in respect to applications performed: Master models for CFRP mold production, dynamic tools for automatic fiber placement, fast prototyping of molds for oven and autoclave use. Description of multipurpose applications for Nautical, Defense and different industries is followed by open question time.
