The benefit of using Carbon fibre reinforced composites in commercial aircrafts ranges in weight, fuel and emission savings as well as increasing passenger comfort and reducing airplane maintenance cost. Commercial aircrafts are being produced at increasing build rates which necessitate more productive composite manufacturing processes including the possibility of curing the parts without using autoclaves. This requires the use of processes with high fibre deposition rates coupled with the impregnation of the fibre in a mould with High Performance Resin Systems.
