The benefit of using Carbon fibre reinforced composites in commercial aircrafts ranges in weight, fuel and emission savings as well as increasing passenger comfort and reducing airplane maintenance cost. Commercial aircrafts are being produced at increasing build rates which necessitate more productive composite manufacturing processes including the possibility of curing the parts without using autoclaves. This requires the use of processes with high fibre deposition rates coupled with the impregnation of the fibre in a mould with High Performance Resin Systems.
Introducing Hexion’s EPIKOTE™ System 600, a high-performance epoxy system qualified for advanced composites applications, discover during this session:
  • A new possibility to move to 2 components systems for the infusion or resin transfer moulding of structural parts used in aerospace applications
  • The state-of-the-art mixing and metering technology for High Performance Resin Systems
  • How in line analytics can be used to control an equipment dosing
  • How the resin flow can be controlled for a more effective impregnation in a connected mould
  • A perspective on cost savings which are possible for infusion and RTM going forward.
